Project: Edgware Depot – Kitchen
Client: Tube Lines Limited
Works Value: £7,000
These works consisted of the supply and installation of a small kitchen in the Security Hut at the entrance to Edgware Depot. In addition to this we relocated and fixed an Armco Barrier around the perimeter of a new car parking area, broke out brickwork obstructions and installed a manhole cover over existing services.
The Armco Barrier was set out around the perimeter of the new car parking area and the feet were fixed to the concrete with the aid of Hilti Hit HY 200A and galvanised studs. The barrier was then laid out and where required cut to length with the aid of an 110v reciprocating saw. The barrier was then bolted to the rear of the posts to complete the installation.
The kitchen unit was installed in the Security Cabin to provide a sink, work tops and storage cupboards for staff. The external plumbing was run from the rear of the Security hut on the relocated Armco Barrier. The waste was run to a fall on the rear of the barrier and the cold water supply was lagged and buried in the trench running along the fence line. The water supply and drainage were then connected to redundant fittings from the cabins removed by others to provide the car parking space. Hot water was provided by the installation of an over sink water heater connected to the electrical supply in the Security Hut by a qualified electrician.
Our works also included the making good of concrete areas following the removal of these cabins. Brickwork upstands were broken out and an existing cable access point was made good before a manhole cover was fitted over the opening.
