Paddington Station: – UMC & LMC Works

Project: Paddington Station – UMC & LMC Works

Client: London Underground Limited – L&E Team

Works Value: £25,000

We carried out cleaning and painting works within the Upper and Lower Machine Chambers at Paddington Station as part of London Underground Limited’s 3 Year Escalator Refurbishment Plan.  All existing assets had to be carefully protected for the duration of the works.

We cleaned and de-greased heavily soiled areas before using a specialist anti-slip paint to redecorate the floors, plinths, steps, incline stairs and nosings within the machine chamber areas.

We also cleaned gullies and Aco drainage with an approved degreasing agent due to residue build up from the working escalators.  This was done so the water could flow freely down the drainage channels and not create a water ingress issue as a result of the build-up.

Works were carried out by our specialist L&E team who are in possession of all relevant certification including Machine Room Awareness training.
